Trigger Point Therapy
If you have painful knots that need treatment, this modality is for you.
Releasing Tension and Relieving Stress.
Trigger Point Therapy is a style of bodywork that focuses on stimulating and releasing “trigger points” in your body.
Trigger points are tender areas of tension similar to acupressure points, except they occur in the belly of the muscle tissue rather than along the energy pathways of the body. These ‘knots’ are built up throughout a person’s life due to physical, mental, and/or emotional stress.
During a session, focused pressure is applied through a variety of techniques in order to release your trigger points. This process can be quite painful at times, yet the effects are lasting and profoundly transformative. Our professional massage therapist will instruct you on breath management in order to release the trigger point.
The result of trigger point massage is the elimination of toxins in the muscles and the release of energizing endorphins. A significant decrease in pain is often found after just one treatment. A series of treatments are additionally beneficial to assist in pain management.
Say goodbye to the knots in your back.
When adding the trigger-point therapy modality to a session, remember to take notes on what areas need treatment, the nature and origin of your trauma-based pain and to provide feedback during the session.
* This service is a $10 add-on to your 30min, 60min or 90min massage session
* NOTE: Remember to drink plenty of water to help your body flush toxins released (I.e. lactic acid).
